Weight Loss Diet Plans – What Are Weight Loss Diet Plans
And Do They Work?
“I’m on a weight loss diet plan.”
We’ve heard that countless times before. People are so conscious with their weight and figure, and for a good reason.
Obesity is a wide spread problem. In 2006, about 25% of the American has been diagnosed with obesity and obesity-related diseases like cancer and heart attack. And for the past 20 years, this hard-to-rid-of medical condition has taken more than 300,000 lives annually!
It’s no surprise that, literally, hundreds of weight loss diet plans appeared out of thin air. Diet plans like Atkins and South Beach are the names that come to mind when discussing weight loss.
But there is a catch with most of the diet plans out there:
- They involve sudden and unnatural changes in meal plans making it hard to cope up with.
- They’re impractical: they reduce so much protein, carb, and more that your body won’t develop normally.
- They give you immediate results INITIALLY only to hit a plateau.
…And a lot more.
Let’s take a look at some of the other well-known diet plans that claim to work but, unfortunately, has a significant flaw somewhere:
Diet Plan No. 1 - One Day Diet
This one is, by far, the most amusing plan that you might ever encounter.
This diet plan claims to help you cut down 20 pounds by eating a high caloric diet every second day of the month. You’re allowed only to eat diet wafers and raw fruits. BUT on the very next day you’re allowed to eat anything.
A lot of people are attesting to its weight loss effects. BUT what if you’re normal meal includes a double patty burger, 500 ml. of softdrinks, and ice cream? How’d you burn the fat that replaces what you burn the very next day?
Unfortunately, the advocates don’t have a scientific answer.
Diet Plan No. 2 – Lose 10 Pounds In 10 Days
This diet plan involves eating only butter and meat for 10 straight days. But the promoters themselves still advocate changing your whole lifestyle for the healthier.
The promise: no results on the first 4 days, but on the 5th day you’ll lose 5 pounds and a pound on the rest of the days.
Though this is healthy overall and DOES show results (w/ scientific backing), what about the individuals with heart disease?
This diet could be fatal.
Farmer’s Market Diet
Very much like a vegan diet plan, this promotes consuming only fresh vegetables. That sounds fresh and healthy until you realize that you’re lacking protein and this gravely affects your body’s development.
And the list goes on and on.
So for me, I’ll be sticking with the basics. After all, when you look closer at these diet plans its all about 2 things: (1) eating the right type and amount of food, and (2) BE ACTIVE and burn those fat build ups.
